As part of the projects for this year, Bessel Foundation has held numerous events to educate front line workers held in commemoration of mental health.
SLUG 2: BESSTEL FOUNDATION HOLDS WORKSHOP FOR GHANA IMMIGRATION SERVICE
Besstel Foundation, a leading non-governmental organization, has organized a comprehensive workshop on mental health and physical wellbeing for officers of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS). The event, held at the Immigration Service Headquarters in Accra, aimed to promote holistic wellness among GIS personnel.
The workshop, which took place on Wednesday 16th October 2024, brought together over 100 GIS officers
from various regions across the country. Expert facilitators from the Besstel Foundation Nash Momori and Peter Hasler led interactive sessions, focusing on stress management, emotional intelligence, and recovery.
Participants gained insight into common mental health challenges, such as anxiety and depression, physical wellbeing, stress management and learnt coping strategies, focusing on developing emotional intelligence, self-awareness and resilience to enhance overall wellbeing.
Officers engaged in discussions, emphasizing on the importance of a balanced lifestyle.
The Foundation that has been in existence for over six years is committed to supporting the wellbeing of Ghana’s frontline workers. This workshop demonstrates our dedication to promoting mental health and physical wellbeing within the GIS,” said Stella Bryant, C.E.O of Bessel Foundation emphasized.
The Deputy Controller General, Owusu Mensah who chaired the the training expressed that, the Ghana Immigration Service values the wellbeing of our officers. He expressed his appreciation to Bessel Foundation for their initiative in enhancing their mental and physical wellbeing.
The Besstel Foundation plans to extend similar workshops to other security agencies, reinforcing its commitment to promoting holistic wellbeing among Ghana’s security personnel.
